I'm envious of your ability to create such a site and even find all the info. It was a great trip down memory lane. I was born in 1925 and retired from GM as a carburetor designer.

I enjoyed this very much. I loved the 50's cars, but the one I favored was not there. The 57 Pontiac Star Chief conv. I consider it the best looking car by far and one of the fastest in the area I lived in. I know I drove it untill I went into the service. The 347CID with oversized valves toped out at 152MPH. Single duce carb.
All aside this is one of the best webs I have seen. One word-AWSOME.

But the best was the color of the car the only Plum Crazy ( Purple) in the whole of NYS. It was cherry, you could see me comming from a mile away. Wish I still had the dam thing now. What a great site, I really enjoyed the pictures and the brief history of each vehicle. Thanks for taking the time to put this together.
Sometime you might consider adding a group of cars manufactured by Chysler in the late 70's, the Plymouth Fury, Dodge D500, DeSoto Adventure and the Chysler 300.
I had a Dodge Custom Royal with a D500 package and like a friend once told someone "it would run a hole in the wind"
Thanks Again, Charley

Many thanks for the side trip down memory lane. It's absolutely true what they say about old people. We can remember in detail what happened 60 years ago, but don't ask us if we took our pills this morning.
At the request of a grandmother of one of my great grandkids I was requested to write down some "old man's tales". Over several years I've collected quite a few. It was amazing what I rembered.
Thanks for the memories.

I love old cars and am restoring a 1956 Corvette. So, needless to say I loved the pictures and narratives regarding the classic cars. However, equally enjoyable and nostalgic were the funny and clever "Burma Shave" signs. The signs use to break the monotony on long trips.

I believe this to be one of, if not, the best done sites of its type that I have seen anywhere. Thanks for doing such a fantastic job. Even more so , i was one of 340 uk police officers to attend the 911 memorial in 2002.
god bless you all who paid for bravery with their lives.
god bless their families who are left with tears in their eyes.

Enjoyed viewing your auto nostalgia book, but there is only one thing wrong and that is the picture's don't match the captions below. The captions seem to be one notch behind the picture, i.e, you view a picture and the caption shown below is actually describing the previous picture, ( the one before this one ). Otherwise it was good and informative.

I'm amazed there was no Model T Ford. That was the automobile that started the Industrial era and put America in front. I would like to see the author add some real antiques, as Packard, Pierce Arrow, Reo, Hupmobile etc. Thank you for the trip

Especially good to see the 1963 Chrysler Turbine.
My Dad was in the car business at the time it was introduced. You're right about a vibration free ride, in fact, one of the sales gimmicks was to balance a nickel on the hood while the engine was running.

Just today completed a road trip from San Antonio to Santa Fe, NM and return. Conversation just today was about the old Burma Shave fence post signs. How surprised was I when opening my email tonight to have your site recommended by a good friend of mine and to find the BS ads. I equally enjoyed the antique and classics autos. Able to see a few of those while on the trip also. Thanks for the many long hours you've spent to put the site together. I will spend much more time looking at you handy work.

Once upon a time I had a 1950 Plymouth Special Deluxe. It more or less had two sofas in it, The return spring on the brake pedal was missing, so I had a rope tied to it - it worked. The vacuum system running the windshield wipers was shot to hell, but a good set of rubber bands were sufficient. It was a fun car.

Enjoyed the nostalgic classic cars. I was a mechanic and have worked on many of them years ago. My first car was a 37 chevy and the second a 1941 DeSoto. Read a lot of those burma shave signs too. Great page. Thanks

Dear Bob,
I am so grateful for the trip down memory lane with all the beautiful cars. Our first one was a 1957 Ford-Fairlane. Powder blue/white. And I used to read all the Burma Shave signs as my family was pretty transient. We moved every several months, north to south- then south to north, back & forth --it never stopped. What an education we got, sometimes, I think better than out of any book.
Thanks for sharing such a beautiful site with so many.
God Bless You Always & Much Love Dede

Your page "Jesus Said I Could" is a most beautiful and awesome tribute to your precious grandson Jason. The words went straight to our hearts as we understand the pain and heartache of others who have lost loved ones.....as we lost our son and grandson three years ago. | I know that you are much Too far away from here. | |
| Yes, I’ve got your photograph And, though it isn’t clear, | |
|
|
| And when I feel that I must cry, I think of you instead. | |
| I find those special places That I’m wishing we could share | |
| And send them off in photographs To remind you over there | |
|
|
|
|
I have it on the table ‘Neath the lamp beside my bed |
|
| And when I feel that I must cry, I think of you instead. | |
| This was my dream at eighteen years It wasn’t meant to be, |
| For, when the winds of war had passed, You were a casualty. |

You have a wonderful web site. A very special cyber gal pal, Sherry, told me about yours & Talltexian's sites. I was totally shocked when I received the news about Mike. Brought the tears immediately. He was such a good person, just as I believe you are. The world needs a lot more people like you & Mike. Thanks for sharing your talent with all of us. Keep the pages coming. God Bless You!

Love your site Texas Bob. I am still exploring it. Don't think I'm going to manage that in one day. I admire what your morals and values seem to be too. God bless

Dear Bob, Your tribute to Talltexian is so beautifully done. I cried when I got the e-mail from Charlotte from mamarocks.com. I just loved his site. I feel as though I have lost a best friend. I am so glad that I found your site. You remind me so much of Mike. I love your site. I believe the Good Lord lead me to your pages. I am grateful to Him. I hope Mike's wife will be able to keep his site going. Bob I hope to be connected to your site for many years to come. You are talented and richly blessed. I pray for all of the loving family sites on the net and that they grow in leaps and bounds. I also want to thank you for always responding to my e-mails to you. You are truly a gentleman. God Bless You Bob,
Jean
P.S. Where is your site located? I thought Mike's site was coming from Texas, only to discover that he lived in South Dakota. I live in Staten Island, N.Y.

Bob, I just thought you might want to know, that Michael Briley passed away yesterday. His graphics will no longer be there for you to take. He was a wonderful talented man and spent many many hours putting those beautiful pages together for you to take at your will. He is with God, and this world will be a much emptier place. But Heaven on the other hand,,,is a much more beautiful place because it has him in it,,,Lisa

Thanks Lisa, If you would let me know what I have used of Michaels, I would like to give him credit for his work as I have done with what you have sent me. If the artwork has their name, I don't always write an extra line unless I have an address to link it back to them. Anyone else reading this who know of anyone's name of any art work, or authors of anything on one of my pages, please let me know so I can give them proper credit. .... Thank you very much, Texas Bob June 5, 03............ I am also e-mailing you regarding this.
Your pages would be nice if they were your pages and not someone else's! I have been going thru your site and I have noticed that most of your pages belong to TallTexian. What is the deal here? That is so wrong. I did notice that there were some other pages that were not his. Are those yours or do they belong to someone other poor unknowing person out there that you have just stolen their html from? Come on ..Don't try and trick us into
believing that you are building these pages that other people are building. Hopefully God will convict you and you will realize what you are doing is WRONG!

I would have enjoyed your website if I didn't know you "borrowed" God Bless America Again from the TallTexian website and didn't even take the time to do your own design and graphics. Uh oh, caught you.

Dear Tiny, since I have no address for you, I will respond here. No part of that particular page is identical to Mikes page of the same item. It was received by e-mail with the sound as an attachment. I do use patriotic colors and flag backgrounds as he does, and sometimes they happen to be the same one. I use what ever feels right at the time. I do have several pages with the same material on them, most of which were sent to me by Lisa Hilbers. Much of her beautiful poetry can be found on both our pages. However, thanks for your comments, and may GOD bless and keep you always, Bob
I have really gotten into the Christian ways now.. I had a tumor removal from my head and it has really changed my life..
I died 2 times on the Operation table.. and God brought me back.. I remember talking to him and looking at His place for everyone in Heaven.. He showed me around and then walked me back to the operating table and said.. " You need to go back to Earth and be the wonderful person you are and help other people become what they need to be in order to come to Heaven and be happy and loved by everyone there",
I was so moved and still am, I cannot get over it.. and also when I was in Heaven..
I saw my brother that died 2 years ago and other family members and they all said
I was not ready for Heaven that I had more things to do on the Earth, and they were so excited that
I found God and have changed the way I have.. and I am so excited also.. he has helped me EVERYDAY and
I am so glad.. I love God.. I love Heaven.. and I love Everyone on this Earth.. thanks for letting me type and say what
I feel.. May God Bless You!

I was not against your President getting rid of Saddam. He was a monster. Your page was sent to me from a friend in England. God bless, Chuck
