As I sit here and
think, |
|
my life's about spent, |
|
My get up and go, |
|
has got up and
went |
| |
|
As I
Sit here thinking,
|
|
I can't help but
grin,
|
|
As I think of all the
places,
|
|
my get up has been, |
| |
|
I started this
journey,
|
|
with not one red cent, |
|
most all I have
earned, |
|
has already been
spent. |
| |
|
I've many fond
memories,
|
|
as the race has
been run, |
|
great family and
friends, |
|
and I enjoyed so much
fun. |
| |
|
I have always been
so blessed,
|
|
and well taken care
of, |
|
and so wonderfully
guarded |
|
by my father from
above. |
| |
|
Even when I strayed
away,
|
|
he would speak
softly as a dove, |
|
He has given me
good health and,
|
|
oh so much, of his
love. |
| |
|
If I could live
this life over,
|
|
this much I would say, |
|
I’de like to be more
beneficial, |
|
to others on the way |
| |
|
Give a helping hand,
|
|
or even a smile as...
they, |
|
Travel the road, each
doing his best,
|
|
until the end of the day. |
| |
|
If I spent the rest of
my days,
|
|
doing only for others, |
|
assisting any way I
could, |
|
for my sisters &
brothers, |
| |
|
There
is still no possible
way,
|
|
that I could repay, |
|
even the interest, on
what GOD has done, |
|
and has sent my way. |
| |
|
So many here below,
|
|
could use a helping
hand, |
|
and I will be
rewarded,
|
|
when at judgment I
stand. |
| |
|
For each little deed, |
|
that might have been
done, |
|
My father will say,
well done,
|
|
come on home my son. |
| |
|
There are a few
treasures, |
|
that I've laid in
store, |
|
but I just keep
thinking, |
|
I should have done
more. |
|

If anything I've
learned,
|
|
while sailing life's
river, |
|
It is absolutely
impossible, |
|
to out give the giver. |
|
|
